We are currently seeking an experienced accounting professional with a background in financial accounting, analysis, and reporting, to join the Corporate Accounting team as an Accountant. We consider this position as our opportunity to select and qualify talent to join our Corporate Accounting team and support our future organizational growth. Solera operates in a decentralized and vertically integrated finance model that is designed to support its Mission of reaching $2 billion in revenue and $800 million in EBITDA by FY’20. Similar to Solera’s operations throughout the world, Corporate is treated as a business unit. The Corporate Accountant will report to an Accounting Manager and will be a key member of the Chief Accounting Officer’s team, helping to ensure that Solera’s financial information is a strength for the company.

The Corporate Accountant will serve in a highly visible role as a business partner with Solera corporate leadership performing accounting and financial close processes for the multiple entities and corporate departments.  He/she will provide ongoing support managing corporate expenses, accruals, intercompany transactions, and cash transactions while focusing on process improvement, accuracy and timeliness.

A Day in the life of a Corporate Accountant

Position 80s

  • Drive process improvements to ensure accounting and month-end close is performed efficiently with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ensure transactions are recorded in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Record monthly journal entries and maintain account reconciliations.
  • Partner with corporate departments to understand purchasing needs and new vendor contracts.
  • Prepare accurate accruals and communicate with professional services firms regarding estimates and outstanding balances.
  • Monitor and report corporate business unit headcount including employees, temps and contractors.
  • Track and analyze costs on internal projects including capital software development.
  • Maintain internal control documentation and verify effectiveness of internal controls for SOX compliance.
  • Manage intercompany billing, loans, and reconciliations and communicate effectively intercompany counter parties.
  • Work closely with internal and external auditors to support quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Complete special projects as requested by management.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.


 The Fine Print

  • Minimum of 3 years accounting experience in a private/public company
  • Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting required
  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred; will consider advance accounting degrees
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX a plus
  • Experience with financial consolidations and reporting for multiple entities in systems such as Hyperion and COGNOS
  • Proficient in Microsoft products- Excel (pivot tables, lookups, if-statements), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must be disciplined, high energy, outgoing, versatile and strong work ethic. Desire and actual demonstration to go to the next level.
