ABOUT THE ROLE AND OUR IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager   with a background in financial systems implementations, to join the Solera Global Financial System team. In support of Mission 2020 and the promotion of shareholder value, this individual will strive to achieve administrative excellence by ensuring that project & programs s are delivered to both internal and external users on time, on or under budget and deliver the business value expected. Ideal candidates are output-focused, goal-oriented, proactive, diligent, organized, flexible and eager to take on new challenges. To be successful in this role, candidates must show an ability to develop and lead a 97th percentile elite project team (80/20) and efficiently deploy resources to constantly innovate and achieve more output (30/30), while holding him/herself and others accountable to a rigorous performance standard (90/10).

A Day in the life of a Project Manager - Global Financial Systems

Core Mission 80’s

  • Gather Business requirements: lead the gathering of business requirements. Translate high level business requirements into functional specifications.
  • Document Requirements: detailed and concise descriptions of business and technical requirements. This effort includes considerations for regulatory, business, user, functional and non-functional requirements.  The documentation should reflect “current state” and “future states” of the business function.
  • Manage requirements: Define, organize, and schedule requirements management activities within the scope of an overall project plan. Determine requirements prioritization and manage traceability activities.
  • Project Integration:  Establish the framework needed to ensure all elements of a project are planned, coordinated and monitored.  This may include development of a project plan, change control plan and an execution plan.
  • Scope Management:  Work with primary stakeholders defines what is in and out of project scope.  Ensuring scope is documented and approved identifying the collective set of project deliverables.
  • Project Timing:  Define project activities, sequencing of those activities and estimating level of effort.
  • Budgeting & Cost Management:  Pull together the estimated cost for the project, identifying when expenditures will occur, overseeing the budget vs. spend throughout the projects life-cycle and incorporating controls to ensure the project stays within budget.
  • Team leadership:  Identify the skills needed for project success and work with stakeholders to ensure team member skill sets align with project assignments.

  • Be a Subject Matter Expert: Understand business process and data flow within applications.
  • Communication Planning:  Creates and manages a project communication plan ensuring project stakeholders receive the information needed, within a beneficial timeframe and utilizing an effective format (verbal, written, presentation).
  • Risk Management:  Strives to identify project risks, works with team and stakeholders to establish risk mitigation plans including the identification of triggering events, control methods and project impact / cost estimates.
  • Procurement Management:  Oversees the activities required for procurement including establishing contracts (Time & Materials; Fixed Price; …), statements of work (SOW), defining contract change control procedures, vendor management as well as overseeing product evaluation and selection efforts.

Qualifications

The Fine Print

  • Undergraduate degree in Finance or Financial Systems Management
  • PMP/ PMI Certification or equivalent preferred
  • 5- 10 years’ experience successfully leading & managing complex global financial system implementation projects.
  • Advanced understanding of US GAAP and finance and accounting practices.
  • Advanced understanding of six sigma & lean principles.
  • Advanced understanding of financial systems & platforms.
  • Advanced understanding of the Sarbanes Oxley act and internal control frameworks
  • Prior experience in AGILE project management and software implementation
