Are You Uncommon?

The HRBP Director will have experience in all facets of Human Resources, with a very strong focus on employee retention/relations and change management. The incumbent will play a key role in ensuring the organization achieves its mission and goals. (both short-term and long-term) The ideal candidate will understand the importance of and display the ability to provide employees and management with valuable feedback through daily interactions, coaching and counseling.  The HRBP Director will support 635 employees across multiple states.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Consult with business leads to understand business strategy and human resources support needs specially around employee retention/relations and change management;
  • Proactively identify ways to engage in the community to attract the best talent and to find “uncommon” ways to promote our brand;
  • Maintain and comply with all posting and employee notification requirements;
  • Partner with the line of business to screen candidates and assist in the talent acquisition of new employees;
  • Partners directly with the local business owners to identify “uncommon” ways to increase employee retention;
  • Provide direction to employees and management that enables maximum performance and reinforces the business culture while influencing positive morale and employee retention;
  • Partner with subject matter experts in such areas as compensation, payroll, benefits, diversity, training & organizational development to ensure the Company is following current employment “best practices”;
  • Train managers and employees about company policies, equal employment opportunity, documentation, and legal issues;
  • Respond to all concerns, communications and questions from managers and employees; utilize expertise to identify and solve employee issues and escalate as necessary;
  • Distribute and enforce Company Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunity Policies; investigate and respond to all complaints of harassment, discrimination and legal violations and escalate as necessary;
  • Ensure that all accidents are properly reported to the Company’s Worker’s Compensation Insurer;
  • Provide guidance and recommendations regarding employee discipline and termination;
  • Respond to and defend all unemployment claims filed by former employees;
  • Must be flexible to work extended/flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, evenings, etc., as necessary; and,
  • All other related and/or additional responsibilities that may be required or assigned.


Are You Qualified?

  • At least 4 years of Human Resources leadership experience;
  • 2 years Director level experience desired;
  • Minimum Undergraduate Degree in Business or related field required;
  • Previous consulting experience a plus;
  • General knowledge of employment laws and practices including: payroll, labor law compliance, FMLA, ADA and benefit programs;
  • Strong problem solving, influencing and negotiation skills;
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of discretion and confidentiality while at the same time being able to interface with all levels of employees and management;
  • Excellent communication skills— can communicate clearly and effectively, verbally, in writing, and by electronic communications with both internal and external clients;
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks, to work well under pressure, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously;
  • Ability to take initiative, identifying potential problems and solutions;
  • Proficient experience using MS Office Applications;
  • Experience with HRIS systems (i.e., Kronos, UltiPro, ADP, PeopleAnswers); 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, judgment and decision-making skills; 
  • Ability to sit for multiple hours at a time and to work multiple hours a day at a computer keyboard; and,
  • Ability to remain alert and focused during the work day.
