    What You’ll Be Doing

    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission.  The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission.  The mission 80’s for this role, are:


    • Manage claims and cases occurring through all provinces in Canada, encompassing cases related to Short Term Disability (STD)/Long Term Disability (LTD), unapproved sick leaves/appeals, accommodations, gradual return to work (GRTW), historical LTD claims, chronic absence, and litigated files.
    • Manage, analyze and monitor disability claims/cases process from claim initialization to claim closure, document Individual Accommodation Plans (IAPs), arranging for Functional Abilities Evaluations (FAEs)/ Independent Medical Evaluations (IMEs) when appropriate
    • Partner with appropriate individuals in the management of absences and in the identification of early intervention and risk assessment opportunities
    • Monitor and maintain data on disability trends, identifying and recommending appropriate recommendations, actions, and education. Implement and maintain statistics related to these programs. Close cases or proceed to a long duration resolution by providing recommendations, accomplishing return to work in any capacity, and arranging for permanent accommodation as required
    • A true hands-on approach as well as the ability to successfully monitor the "pulse" of the employees to ensure high level of employee engagement for the local site you support
    • Experience with rapid and complex changing work environment
    • Success in creating and driving effective development, employee relations, retention and reward programs
    • Provide guidance and assistance on HR policies and procedures
    • Advise on benefits administration
    • Ensure maintenance of the Performance Management / Appraisal program
    • Support headcount forecasting, HR data analysis, and reporting as required
    • Participate in the implementation and maintenance of specialized HR Programs and projects as required


    Are You Qualified? 

    • 4+ years' experience in an HR generalist, management or business partner role
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post-secondary degree
    • Employee relations, change management and team development experience
    • Ability to diagnose problems and identify and drive appropriate solutions
    • Flexibility, fantastic communication skills and huge amounts of drive
    • The ability to be comfortable with high volume workload and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves"
    • Influencing skills and interfacing with senior members of the business
    • Strong solutions focus and be comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
    • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously - orientated on results
    • Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence
    • Passion for innovative HR solutions and process improvement
