You will serve as the Senior Benefits Analyst.

    What You’ll Be Doing

    At Solera, we believe in providing clarity and focus to what our volunteers are responsible for – their mission. The 80’s, as we call them at Solera, are the employee’s priorities associated with their role or mission. The mission 80’s for this role, are:

    1. Responsible for the administration and maintenance of employee benefits across the organization US and Canada, specifically but not limited to: health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurances, and 401(k) and Retirement plans.
    2. Performs advanced and complex, clerical duties requiring the use of independent judgment, analysis and detailed knowledge of company and/or department procedures related to work performed.
    3. Oversee audits on benefits administration, billing, and system transmissions to ensure data/system integrity. Ensure company compliance with federal and state laws and implement required communications. 

    Additional responsibilities of the role include:

    • Oversees the administration of benefits programs (US and Canada). Maintains plan documents. Ensures compliance with applicable benefits and tax legislation. Develops and maintains administrative procedures.
    • Partners with other departments (Finance, HRIS, Payroll, IT, etc.) as well as external vendors. In particular focus on interfaces and process improvements across departments.
    • Ensures consistency in plan administration and regulatory compliance, including the preparation and mailing of SARs, SMMs, 1095s and 5500s
    • Project manages annual benefit audits.
    • Acts as a point of contact for employee benefit questions/escalations pertaining to complex benefit matters.
    • Prepares and maintains benefit-specific reports, verifies accuracy and distributes as appropriate.  Tracks and monitors reports sent by vendors and carriers. 
    • Works with benefits carriers and vendors to resolve complex benefits-related issues to completion.
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of benefits policies and procedures as well as relevant industry practices.
    • Manages annual enrollment system configuration.
    • Responsible for invoice reconciliation, processing and submission to Accounts Payable on all Benefits invoices

    Qualifications

    Are You Qualified?

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field.
    • 5+ years progressively responsible experience in direct design, implementation, and administration of benefits programs.
    • Full understanding of benefit plans (medical, dental, life, AD&D, FSA, 401(K), COBRA FMLA and ERISA, IRS etc.) required.
    • Ability to analyze, interpret and summarize complex data, prepare reports and make recommendations to management based on results of analysis.
    • Ability to establish evaluation criteria for vendors; and monitor and audit contracts and vendors for compliance.
    • Proficient in word processing, database and spreadsheet applications (MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point).
